Model Spotlight: Tony Brettman

CJC: How did you get your start in modeling?
TB: A local photographer approached me at a nutrition store and asked if I had ever considered modeling. I told him I hadn’t, and he said that I have a look where I could possibly do pretty well! That local photographer was Reggie Deanching and here I am almost years later pursuing my passions!
CJC: Who/what do you draw inspiration from during a photo shoot?
TB: My family and my children inspire me! I want to be the best I can be and set a good example for my kids! I want them to feel like they have a superhero for a Dad!
CJC: What do you enjoy the most about modeling and what do you find to be the most challenging?
TB: I enjoy working, the preparation and training and then capturing the final results! Most importantly, I love the reaction and satisfaction the photographers, authors and readers get when they get the content/cover/character that they have been looking for!
The most challenging part is gaining the confidence that I’m ready for the shoot and that the photos are gonna be what the authors and readers are looking for! I’m not here to waste the photographer’s time so I want to come in looking my absolute best!
CJC: If you could have any costar for a photo shoot, who would it be and why?
TB: I really want to shoot with my girlfriend Jefra, we have the most amazing chemistry and connection and I know that would translate really well on a cover.
CJC: How do you stay in such great shape?
TB: Diet, training and consistency. I have been doing this for almost 17 years and you can’t build Rome in a day!
CJC: Do you have any interesting or unique talents?
TB: I can do backflips.
CJC: This industry can be harsh, how do you deal with criticism?
TB: ring it on! Just another opportunity to take in feedback and get better! Haters gonna hate but I think if we meet it with open ears and take in the positives it will only better us!
CJC: What is something most people don’t know about you?
TB: I was a foster care child who eventually got adopted. My unique past provides me with a compassionate lens to hear people out and to see people for who they truly are!
CJC: To date, what accomplishment are you most proud of?
TB: Being a father of 3 amazing kiddos and a role model to 3 additional kiddos!
CJC: What are your goals for the remainder of the year?
TB: Work on my career, build a bigger brand and reach more of an audience! Start my off season the right way and bring in a better physique next year!

CJC: Any final thoughts you would like to share with the CJC Photography readers?
TB: I never realized how amazing this community truly is, there is so much that goes on behind the scenes! I’m truly appreciative of everyone and all the opportunities that have been put before me! I cannot wait for what the future will bring!
