CJC: How did you get started as an author and what made you want to pursue that field?
LR: I’ve always been an avid reader. Writing has also been a passion of mine, and I decided to share the stories floating around in my mind. My short, steamy instalove stories are a little over the top because I believe reading should be an escape from real life.
CJC: What do you find to be the most rewarding and challenging part of being an author and what hurdles have you overcome while striving towards your goals?
LR: I struggle to maintain my schedule. I tend to fall for “squirrel syndrome” and get distracted by new ideas very easily.
CJC: For first time readers of your work, which book would you recommend?
LR: My new series, Silver Spoon Falls MC and The CEO.
CJC: If you could co-write a book with any author, who would it be and why?
LR: I already co-write with my partner-in-crime and bestie, Nichole Rose.
CJC: Favorite motto?
LR: Life is good.
CJC: What do you do to overcome writer’s block?
LR: I walk away for a while and give my mind time to rest. Sometimes I read to clear my mind but I always chose something from a totally different genre so I don’t cloud my mind and ideas.
CJC: In one word, how would you describe your writing style?
LR: My romance stories are always cute.
CJC: Which do you find harder to do… writing the blurb for your story or selecting the cover?
LR: I absolutely detest writing blurbs. I actually wait until the last minute.
CJC: Do you have authors who inspire you? And if so, who and why?
LR: There are way too many authors that I admire to choose just one.
CJC: What is your writing process like?
LR: Before I start my book, I plot it out and order the cover. I must have the cover for inspiration to start writing. I schedule editing appointments for the entire year, and I plan my editing schedule at least a year in advance. Having the appointments gives me a definite deadline. Then I work a normal nine to five Monday thru Friday work schedule unless I get behind.
CJC: What new projects are you currently working on and what are your goals for the remainder of the year?
LR: I always have several projects in the works at one time. I have several releases planned this year and next.
CJC: “Fischer’s Catch is now available!
