CJC: How did you get your start in modeling?

MW: I always loved being in front of the camera but being plus size I never thought that I could model. After I saw Ashley Graham represented in Sports Illustrated’s 2016 cover, it gave me the courage to face the camera as a bigger female.

CJC: Who/what do you draw inspiration from during a photo shoot?

MW: On a majority of my photo shoots I draw inspiration from Hunter McGrady and a few others models from Sports Illustrated.

CJC: What do you enjoy the most about modeling and what do you find to be the most challenging?

MW: I enjoy how empowering I can be as a plus size model to girls that don’t feel confident enough. No matter what the shape or size of the woman that look up to me they can somewhat relate and see themself in me.

I think the hardest part about being a model is being sexualized all the time for creating an artistic outlook in their pictures.

CJC: In one word how would you describe yourself?

MW: Empowering.

CJC: If you could have any co-star for a photo shoot, who would it be and why?

MW: If I could pick anyone to co-star with me on a photo shoot I think it would definitely be Hunter McGrady. I look up to her so much as a plus size queen that I would be honored to be in a picture with her.

CJC: Do you have any interesting or unique talents?

MW: I am actually a professional makeup artist for movie and television and special effects, like The Walking Dead!

CJC: This industry can be harsh, how do you deal with criticism?

MW: Growing up I was always bullied for my weight and learned to overcome what anyone said to me. I think that really helped me grow thick skin, but I am human and it does sting at times I won’t lie.

CJC: What is something most people don’t know about you?

MW: When viewing my Instagram you don’t really get to see my personality too much. I am a legit goofball. I am so crazy I do crazy stuff all the time. I don’t care what people say so I do whatever I want and have no filter!

CJC: To date, what accomplishment are you the most proud of?

MW: Right now I think my biggest accomplishment was being in the Top 60 for Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit search last year out of 10,000 girls. I worked one-on-one with Sports Illustrated’s editor and photographers that I look up to!

CJC: Any final thoughts you would like to share with the CJC Photography readers?

MW: Honestly, if anything I want to hear feedback from the readers and authors. I would really like to do magazine and book cover work. I want to see what the readers are Intrigued in seeing me in!

CJC: I had such a great time working with Meighan during this photo shoot and I’m actually pretty surprised we got anything done because we were laughing and talking throughout the whole shoot. I really felt like I got to know her in such a short span of time and she was a complete joy to work with. I can’t wait to collaborate again hopefully soon!

Meighan,
You are an inspiration!!! I’m 50 and a bit plus size myself! I like being in front of the camera too but always been judged especially after having kids! How do you recommend getting started in this field? I’m not great with make-up, but love it, and hair and dressing up and everything! You are so gorgeous and you radiate acceptance of who you are instead of who people want you to be! Love that!

Meighan is beautiful inside and out, an inspiration to any female who struggles with their looks. She is absolutely talented in the field of make up artistry.: Her bubbly personality just radiates off the page. Looking forward to seeing her in SI.
